An Ode to the Underworld

Using analog surveying methods a section and plan is produced, showing the existing conditions.
As the visitors descend into the invisible layer of the earth they eventually begin to walk on Wissahickon schist, the naturally occurring bedrock from this region. The stairs also mimic the color and texture of the local soil profile.
